CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Two bridges in Kanawha County were closed briefly Thursday morning after accidents caused by black ice.

The Nitro-St. Albans bridge was shut down after an accident that left one vehicle hanging partially off the bridge.

According to Kanawha County Metro 911, a vehicle was driving across the bridge at about 6:30 a.m. when it hit a patch of black ice and went through the guardrail, leaving the vehicle partially off the bridge.

No one was injured in the accident.

Officials also shut down the westbound bridge on Interstate 64 at mile marker 54 for an accident and black ice.

Both bridges were reopened by 9:30 a.m.

Black ice was also reported on the U.S. 119 bridge at the Davis Creek exit, in the 800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in St. Albans and near the entrance to the Nitro-St. Albans bridge.
