LESAGE, W.Va. -- Cabell County police say icy conditions appear to have contributed to an accident that killed two people.
Sheriff Tom McComas says the two-vehicle accident occurred at about 9:20 a.m. Thursday on a bridge on W.Va. 2.
McComas says the victims were occupants of the same vehicle. Their names were withheld pending notification of relatives. A third person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
McComas says the bridge was covered in ice at the time of the accident, but he tells The Herald-Dispatch the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
