CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- WorkForce West Virginia is getting a $1.2 million federal grant to help supplement health insurance payments for jobless workers.

The U.S. Department of Labor said the National Emergency Grant will allow the state to continue to fund partial health insurance premium payments for unemployed individuals and expand the number of people it serves.

Officials say West Virginia has received a total of $1.7 million in federal grant money to assist with payments for the Health Coverage Tax Credit program.
