ALPINE THEATRE BENEFIT: 7 to 8:30 p.m., Ripley's Alpine Theatre. The event includes the premiere of "The Shadow of October: The Barn After Dark," a documentary on the expansion of the popular Halloween attraction, the Haunted Barn. The silent short "Second Shift" and a music video for Ripley's Brewin Company's "Stand and Defend" also will screen. Admission is $5, with all proceeds benefiting the theater. Call 304-372-1637.
