MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Microsoft Corp. has given the West Virginia University College of Business and Economics $245,000 worth of accounting software and annual support.
The gift was announced Thursday. It comes from the Microsoft Dynamics Academic Alliance program.

Dean Jose Sartarelli calls it a valuable gift to the school's accounting students.
Associate Professor Richard Dull says the software will be used initially be used in accounting systems courses, but it won't stop there.
Students will later be able to use it to learn concepts related to internal controls, fraud and error detection.
The Management Information Systems department may use it, too.
Dull says it will help teachers go beyond the theoretical side of accounting to the real world by using a system that thousands of employers use.
