The affected area includes Fayette Pike, 2nd Avenue/W.Va. 61 West and Hillcrest Drive in Montgomery; 1st Avenue, 2nd Avenue, 3rd Avenue, Lower Drive and Church Hill Drive in Handley; Mercer Road, Williams Road, Hoskins Road, Wyatt Street, Lena Street, School Lane and Route 60 in London; and Stephen Street, Hughes Creek Road, Luke Street, Matthews Street, Rachel Street, David Street, Michael Street, Mark Street, Jacob Street, Sarah Lane, Benjamin Lane and U.S. 60 in Hugheston.
In Montgomery, most of the businesses in the main part of the town, including West Virginia University Tech and Montgomery General Hospital, are not affected, the water company said.
The advisory follows a water main break, which drained a water storage tank. Affected customers may experience low water pressure or a disruption in water service until repairs are complete, the water company said.
Customers are asked to bring water used for drinking, cooking, bathing, showering and brushing teeth to a full boil for a minimum of one minute until further notice.
