CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia American Water has lifted a boil-water advisory for about 1,000 customers in west Charleston and the Sissonville Drive areas.

The advisory was issued Tuesday after a water main break, which drained two water storage tanks. Water service was restored Tuesday afternoon, and tests have confirmed that the water meets drinking-water standards, according to a statement from the water company.
