MARMET, W.Va. -- Marmet Elementary School students will return to class on Monday on their regular schedule, following sewage problems that led to early dismissal on Friday.
Students were sent home around noon after the school's main sewer line clogged, which caused water to seep through the floor drains, according to Terry Hollandsworth, maintenance director for Kanawha County Schools.
Plumbers were able to unclog the drain within about two hours, and extra custodial crews were called in to help clean the school late Friday afternoon.
