Women With Abundant Life,: 1534 Washington St. E. are hosting "Step Out of Fear and Walk into Your Season" from 7 to 9 p.m. on Jan. 18. Words of encouragement will be given by Renea Crozier, Rachel Hill, Thelma Hughes, Katedra McCoy and Nicole Pharr. This event is free and all are welcome. The Mount Olivet Ushers Federation: will meet at 10 a.m. Jan. 12 at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Ushers of the Mount Olivet Association who would like to e a member are invited to attend the meeting.

The 2013 Christian Women's Conference,: "Breaking Free," will be held April 12-14 at Days Inn Conference Center in Flatwoods. Speakers will be Shari Johnson, writer speaker "The Jesus Chick,"; Andrea Argabrite, family nurse practitioner; and Gloria Jones, "GloJo," hostess. Conference rates include April 12 and 13 sessions, two-night hotel stay; April 12 and 13 banquets; continental breakfast on April 13 and 14; "Breaking Free" shirt and conference materials. Temple Israel: will feature an "Issues of Conscience" Film Festival this season, sponsored by the Social Action Committee its location, 2312 Kanawha Blvd. E. The film festival is free, however, those who attend are encouraged to sign up. The first film, "Sullivan's Travels," will be shown at 6 p.m. on Jan. 15. Released in December 1941, the movie is a perfectly imperfect Depression-era serio-comedy that addresses issues that remain contemporary: poverty, race relations, the criminal justice system and Hollywood superficiality. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. and in line with the film's setting, will be served from the church's "soup kitchen." The 90-minute film will be followed by coffee, dessert and casual discussion. The Believers: will be singing at 6 p.m. Sunday at Derricks Creek Community Church located on Derricks Creek Road in Sissonville.

The Eighth Annual New Year Community Benefit Gospel Sing: will be held at 6 p.m. today at Summersville Baptist Church, Main Street, Summersville. Admission is free, however, donations of non-perishable food items are requested to benefit the Salvation Army food pantry in Summerville. A love offering will also be received and donated to the Richwood Ministerial and Summersville Ministerial Associations community needs fund. Singing will be Dana Thomas and Jennifer Gatewood of Summersville; Hands of Worship from Canvas; The Pomeroys of Richwood; The Deal Brothers of Craigsville; and The Faith Harmony Boys of Charleston. The sing is sponsored by the REACH By FAITH Ministries.

Mike Upright,: "The Southern Gentlemen," will be singing in the morning service at 10 a.m. on Sunday at Allens Fork Community Church, located on Allens Fork Road, Sissonville. Mike has been traveling the United States for more than 15 years singing songs and sharing the gospel of hope and inspiration. Allens Fork pastor is Jerry Bonnett. Ron Shamblin: will sing at 7 p.m. Monday night at Lucy Wilson Baptist Church, Wills Creek, Elkview.

Fairlawn Baptist Church,: 20th Street and Fletcher Avenue, Dunbar, will feature the Carpenter Family in the morning worship service on Jan. 13. The family will present the drama, "D.L. Moody -- Is God Your God." Moody was a fiery evangelist from the 1800's and comes to life in a passionate reenactment by Scott Carpenter. Revival:

King of Glory International Ministries,: 302 Delaware Ave., will have a Prayer Revival today and Sunday at the church. Evangelist Carlotta Lynch of Morgantown Faith Center, Morgantown, will speak at 7 p.m. today. Prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Lloyd A. Hill of My Father's House Missionary Baptist Church will speak at 5 p.m. Sunday and the prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. King of Glory senior pastor is Tina M. Beatty. Special services:

Metropolitan Baptist Church,: 205 Donnally St., will have a Holy Communion service at 11 a.m. Sunday. Sermon will be by the Rev. Ron English.

Good Shepherd Freewill Baptist Church,: 5470 West Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, will have Sunday school at 10 a.m. and a worship at 11 a.m. Sunday. Pastor Jason C. Black will preach. The evening worship will begin at 6 pm. Sunday with Theressa Jeffries singing and Pastor Jason C. Black preaching. The prayer meeting and youth group meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Living Water Worship Centre,: 513 Patrick Street, West Side, will have morning worship at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, with Pastor S.R. White as the speaker. Breakfast will be served from 8:45 to 9:20 a.m. Living Water will celebrate its one year anniversary at 5 p.m. on Jan. 13 at the church. Guest speaker will be Pastor Tina M. Beatty, along with the congregation of King of Glory International Ministries, Charleston.
