Women With Abundant Life,: 1534 Washington St. E. are hosting "Step Out of Fear and Walk into Your Season" from 7 to 9 p.m. on Jan. 18. The Mount Olivet Ushers Federation: will meet at 10 a.m. Jan. 12 at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Ushers of the Mount Olivet Association who would like to e a member are invited to attend the meeting.

The 2013 Christian Women's Conference,: "Breaking Free," will be held April 12-14 at Days Inn Conference Center in Flatwoods. Speakers will be Shari Johnson, writer speaker "The Jesus Chick,"; Andrea Argabrite, family nurse practitioner; and Gloria Jones, "GloJo," hostess. Conference rates include April 12 and 13 sessions, two-night hotel stay; April 12 and 13 banquets; continental breakfast on April 13 and 14; "Breaking Free" shirt and conference materials. Temple Israel: will feature an "Issues of Conscience" Film Festival this season, sponsored by the Social Action Committee its location, 2312 Kanawha Blvd. E. The film festival is free, however, those who attend are encouraged to sign up. The first film, "Sullivan's Travels," will be shown at 6 p.m. on Jan. 15. Released in December 1941, the movie is a perfectly imperfect Depression-era serio-comedy that addresses issues that remain contemporary: poverty, race relations, the criminal justice system and Hollywood superficiality. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. and in line with the film's setting, will be served from the church's "soup kitchen." The 90-minute film will be followed by coffee, dessert and casual discussion. The Gospel Harmony Boys: will be in concert at 10:45 a.m. Jan. 13 at Grace Church of the Nazarene, 499 Second Ave. and B Street, South Charleston. For information, call the church at 304-744-2838.

The Believers: will be singing at 6 p.m. Sunday at Derricks Creek Community Church located on Derricks Creek Road in Sissonville.

The Eighth Annual New Year Community Benefit Gospel Sing: will be held at 6 p.m. today at Summersville Baptist Church, Main Street, Summersville. Admission is free, however, donations of non-perishable food items are requested to benefit the Salvation Army food pantry in Summerville. A love offering will also be received and donated to the Richwood Ministerial and Summersville Ministerial Associations community needs fund. Singing will be Dana Thomas and Jennifer Gatewood of Summersville; Hands of Worship from Canvas; The Pomeroys of Richwood; The Deal Brothers of Craigsville; and The Faith Harmony Boys of Charleston. The sing is sponsored by the REACH By FAITH Ministries.
