CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A motorcyclist received severe injuries following a collision with a truck along Corridor G Saturday afternoon, police said.

The accident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. in the northbound lane of U.S. 119 just before the Oakwood Road exit, according to Metro 911 dispatchers.

A Charleston Police Department dispatcher said a truck turning left onto Interstate 64 failed to yield to oncoming traffic and struck the motorcycle.

Paramedics took the motorcyclist to CAMC General Hospital in critical condition. The truck driver received minor injuries and was treated at the scene. No names have been released.

Charleston police and State Police are investigating.
