Kanawha Ski Club will have its January meeting at 7 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Charleston Woman's Club, 1600 Virginia St. E. The meeting will feature a wine tasting, led by Steve and Ivy Bash. Dinner is not provided. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Guests are welcome.

West Virginia Educational Broadcasting Authority will meet at 10 a.m. Jan. 10 at 600 Capitol St.

Hansford Center will host a dance with music by Bill Wymer and the No Regrets Band at 6 p.m. Jan. 12 at the center, 500 Washington St., St. Albans. Doors open at 5 p.m. for a hot dog and barbecue sale. Music and dance will follow at 6 p.m. Admission is by donation. For information, contact director Kathy Barnett at 304-722-4621.

New River Gorge Learning Co-op will sponsor a "Strikes for Tykes Bowl-a-thon" event from 5 to 8 p.m. Jan. 19 at White Oak Lanes, Oak Hill. The event will benefit the New River Gorge Learning Co-op, a Montessori-based learning program for preschool and elementary children in Fayette County. Registration is $30 per person, and six bowlers makes a team. Single bowlers can register and be placed on a team. Registration fee includes a groovy '60s party including '60s tunes, bowling, pizza from Pies & Pints, drinks, an official Bowl-a-thon T-shirt (if registering by Wednesday) and more. Participants are encouraged to wear 1960s fashions. Prizes will be raffled to individuals who gather donations of $100 or more.
