SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A tractor-trailer cab caught fire inside a building at the South Charleston Industrial Park on Tuesday morning, firefighters said.
A mechanic was working on the truck in a diesel fuel work bay when something caught under fire the hood around 11:30 a.m., South Charleston Assistant Fire Chief Virgil White said.
Firefighters contained the blaze in less than 20 minutes and fully extinguished it about 20 minutes after that, White said. The building's sprinkler system prevented the fire from spreading.
The truck was destroyed. Parts of the building and some nearby equipment received slight fire damage, White said. No one was injured.
