A raccoon got a rude awakening Wednesday morning at the city of Charleston's parking garage on McFarland Street. The animal was apparently sleeping in the gate over the garage entrance and was stunned when it hit the ground.

Workers in the garage tried to get various agencies to come and deal with the raccoon, but the animal got up and walked away of its own accord.
