The National Weather Service reports today that portions of Mercer County and the Bluefield area received 11 to 12 inches of snow, while Summers County recorded 10 inches.
Four to 6 inches was reported southeast of Beckley, while up to 6 inches fell in McDowell County.
Appalachian Power reports nearly 5,000 customers without power. Most are in Monroe, Mercer and McDowell counties.
