NEW MARTINSVILLE, W.Va. -- Wetzel County has a full-time prosecutor for the first time.

Over the past dozen years, Tim Haught has split his time between being prosecutor and having a part-time law practice.

But he told WTOV-TV, of Steubenville, Ohio, that the number of cases in the county of 16,000 people last year surpassed 700, including 135 felonies.

With the job more demanding than ever, Haught said the Wetzel County Commission agreed to let him become a full-time prosecutor.
