Anniversaries

St. Timothy's in-the-Valley Episcopal Church,: 3434 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, will celebrate its 50th anniversary Sunday at the church. A festive coffee hour will begin the day at 9:30 a.m. in the Welcome Center. Worship in a semi-1963 fashion will follow at 10:30 a.m. during which an accounting of the beginnings and early years will be shared. Following the worship, lunch will be served, and the service will conclude with significant recognitions and special music in the sanctuary. Former and current members are encouraged to attend. Miscellaneous

The Achievers Class: of the Fifth Avenue Church of God in South Charleston will open its Clothes Closet from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Clothes are free to families and individuals in need. New Life Center,: 600 Dawson St., Cedar Grove, will have a Pentecostal Renewal Conference Jan. 25-27 at the church. There is no registration fee. Speakers will be Evangelist Greg Casto, Mark Casto and Pastor Travis McCracken. There will be powerful praise and worship at every service. Unity of Kanawha Valley: welcomes John "Mo' Money" Moore, the debt free guru from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at 804 Myrtle Road. Admission is a voluntary, value-based tuition. Music

The Believers: will sing at 11 a.m. Sunday at Cathedral of Prayer on Pennsylvania Avenue. They also will sing at 7 p.m. Sunday at Grandview Baptist Church, located on Grandview Ridge near Red House.

Divine Hope: will sing at 7 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Fellowship Church, located on Dupont Avenue in Belle.

The Heritage Brothers Quartet: will sing at 7 p.m. Saturday at Paint Creek Church of Jesus Christ. They will also sing at 11 a.m. Sunday at Cedar Grove Baptist Church.

Emmanuel Baptist Church,: located at 1401 Washington St. W., will start off their 2013 concert season with Tribute Quartet at 6 p.m. Saturday at the church. Jamie Tolley will also be appearing. The concert is free. Concessions will open at 4:30 p.m.

Gospel Harmony Boys: will appear in concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Dunbar First Baptist Church, 311 16th Street, Dunbar. There will be a freewill offering.

Fisher Memorial Church: will have a gospel sing at 7 p.m. Jan. 26 at the church, located 1/2 mile on Dudden Fork Road off Goldtown Exit of Interstate 77. The Choraliers, Young Adult Singers, Freeman Newhouse, The New Life Singers, Lathey Family, Saving Grace, Fisher Memorial Church Quarter and Choir will sing. Refreshments will be served in the Family Center following the sing.

Brown's Chapel Community Worship Center: will have a Gospel Sing/Pew Rally titled "Our First Love Jesus Christ" from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 26 at the church,, Haning Drive, St. Albans. Performing groups will be Blessings, Harper Four, Freedom Gospel Band, Jerrid Ellis, Brown's Chapel Praise Team, Generated -- Brown's Chapel Youth, and Josh King, "Christian Rapper." A hot dog sale and refreshments will be sold from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Brown's Chapel Youth Bake Off/Auction will begin at 4 p.m. Directions: Haning Drive is on Dry Ridge. Go through the underpass at Taco Bell in St. Albans. Go straight through the light at Sixth Avenue to the top of the hill. Go straight across Kanawha Terrace onto Pennsylvania Avenue to the three-way stop sign. Turn right up the hill and go 2-3 miles. The church is on the left.

The Harvest Trio: will sing at 7 p.m. Monday at Lucy Wilson Baptist Church, Wills Creek, Elkview.

Ernie Haase and Signature Sound: will sing at 6 p.m. March 2 at the West Virginia Pumpkin Park Music Hall, One Pumpkin Way, Milton. Doors open at 5 pm. Advance discounted tickets may be purchased at Tolley's Bible Book Store in Charleston, Guiding Light Christian Store in Barboursville or by calling 800-965-9324. Tickets will also be sold at the door.

Lakeview Christian Church,: 108 Lakeview Drive, Hurricane, Zack Shelton and the group, 64 2 Grayson, will sing at 11 a.m., Jan. 27 at the church.

Special services

Pocatalico Community Church: will feature the Rev. Kenneth Truman as preacher and singer at the 10 a.m. Sunday service. The Heritage Quartet from North Carolina will be ministering in song at 7 p.m. Sunday night.

Good Shepherd Free Will Baptist Church,: 5470 West Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, will have is praise and worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday with Pastor Jason Black preaching located at. The Rev. Don Davis will be preaching at the 6 p.m. service and music will be provided by His Singing Servants. The prayer meeting and youth group meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.
