The girl was hit and killed by a train at about 12:15 a.m. Sunday near Chestnut and McClung streets in South Charleston. South Charleston Mayor Frank Mullens said the victim apparently walked onto the tracks in an apparent suicide.
Authorities are not releasing the girl's name.
