Whitney Stead received a $25,000 award from the Milken Family Foundation on Thursday. She is one of 50 teachers across the country to receive the award.
Foundation chairman and co-founder Lowell Milken says in a news release that teachers have the most important job in America.
Stead is a nationally board certified teacher and a master science teacher in Science with Inquiry Modules and Problem-based Learning Experiences, or SIMPLE.
