Media outlets report that Secreto was fired Wednesday following an emergency City Council meeting Tuesday.
City manager Debra Herndon says Secreto had been suspended Jan. 17, one day after city administrators received information. She declined to provide details, saying the investigation is ongoing.
Lt. Jason Carlson was named as acting police chief.
There was no telephone listing for Secreto in the Shinnston area.
