The Mount Olivet President Council meeting: scheduled for 1 p.m. today at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church has been canceled because of the advisory for inclement weather.

Green Valley Church of God,: 518 Green Valley Drive, St. Albans, will sponsor a rummage and hot dog sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 2. For more information, call 304-727-4048 or 304-768-1561.

Dawes United Methodist Church: will have soup, sandwiches and desserts at its annual "Souper Bowl of Caring" held 12:30 to 2 p.m. Feb. 3 at the church. Donations will be accepted for the YWCA Women's Sojourner's Shelter.

Pastor, teacher and Evangelist Randy Carter of Set Free Ministries: will be delivering a special message titled, "The Burden of the Heart of the Lord" at 8 a.m. Sunday on local channel 30 WQCW; Channel 6 on Suddenlink cable; and Channel 30 on Direct TV and Dish network.

KISRA, WV Pathways: is calling all dads to a Superbowl Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. on Feb. 2 at the Southridge Grand Prix Center, 500 Southridge Blvd. Dads, stepdads, grand dads, uncles, and other father figures are invited to bring their kids to the fun-filled event. There is no charge and food and games will be provided. KISRA is the Faith Motivated Initiative of Ferguson Memorial Baptist Church 124 Marshall Ave. Dunbar. Unity of Kanawha Valley: is hosting a soup and ceramic bowl sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 2. Homemade soup, bread, and baked goods will be sold along with the opportunity to purchase ceramic bowls from some of West Virginia's finest potters. Purchases can include soup only, bowl only, and the soup and bowl.  The soup in this "souper" bowl fundraiser is also available for carry-out and can be saved for "game day." A benefit sing: will be held for Carla Allison will be held at 6 p.m. today at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 2150 Mount Vernon road, Hurricane. Allison, a homeschool mom from Putnam County, has severe scoliosis and flatback syndrome and needs another major surgery. The sing will features event host Tony Breeden, Elisha Conn, Elizabeth Yeager Cross, Eric Ginn, David Hays, Eric Strobel, and Carla Allison herself. A love offering will be taken with proceeds going to Allison's medical and travel expenses. The event will kick off this year's "Saturday Night Live for Jesus" worship services at Mount Vernon. The Believers: will be singing at 6 p.m. Sunday at New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene located in Pinch across from Pinch Elementary School.
