Charlene Truitt Nelson (left), Great Lakes regional director of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, dedicates a marker to AKA founder Sarah Merriwether Nutter erected on the campus of West Virginia State University. The Friday-afternoon ceremony, held beside Hill Hall on the Institute campus, commemorated the 90th anniversary of WVSU's Nu Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha.
