FUTURE EVENTS:

The Ronceverte Development Corp. and its Main Street program: will host a gala Super Sunday football party and fundraiser Feb. 3 at the Clifford Recreation and Community Center (Clifford Armory) in Ronceverte. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for pre-game activities, kickoff is 6:30 p.m. Food and refreshments are included in the $12 donation. Games and raffles will also be held. Child care will be available for an additional donation and your children will have access to on-site games and activities. The Charleston High School class of 1963: has launched a website for information about the 50th class reunion to take place August 9 at the Charleston Marriott in conjunction with the Charleston High all-class reunion that same weekend. Classmates and anyone else interested in keeping up with the event is encouraged to register at www.charlestonhigh63.com. Tickets to the reunion event may be purchased there as well as information on how to purchase tickets by mail; hotel accommodations, if needed; and links to the all-class reunion events. AARP tax preparation volunteers: will assist with filing tax returns from 1 to 4 p.m. beginning Feb. 4 at the Hansford Center, 500 Washington St., St. Albans. They will be available from 1 to 4 p.m. every Monday and Friday afternoon through tax season. This year, instead of preparing returns on a first-come, first-serve basis, appointments will be made every 30 minutes to minimize wait time. West Virginia Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC): will meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Division of Rehabilitation Services, 10 McJunkin Road, Nitro. All sessions are open to the public and interested parties are encouraged to attend. Individuals who wish to address the council should contact the council office to be placed on the agenda.
