FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. -- A Fayette County man, on parole for breaking into a local grocery store, was arrested over the weekend for allegedly breaking into the same store.
FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. -- A Fayette County man, on parole for breaking into a local grocery store, was arrested during the weekend for allegedly breaking into the same store.
Raymond Heath Shockey, 30, of Fayetteville, was one of two men arrested in connection with the break-in of Ball's Grocery outside Fayetteville, according to Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler.
Kessler said someone used a hammer to smash in the front door of the grocery store at about 1 a.m. Saturday. Video surveillance footage showed two white men entering the store and attempting to pry open an automatic teller machine before making off with several cartons of cigarettes.
Kessler said the store's owner was able to help identify two possible suspects in the break-in. Fayette County deputies were able to track down Shockey and Michael Ray Cooley, 27, of Fayetteville and charged them each with a single count of breaking and entering.
Cooley was free on bond Monday. Shockey was in the Southern Regional Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.
Kessler said Shockey was on parole for a previous breaking and entering conviction at Ball's Grocery when he was arrested.
