Gas prices in W.Va. spike from last week

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The up-and-down pattern of gas prices is on the upswing again in West Virginia.

AAA's weekly Fuel Gauge report on statewide pump prices finds that the price of a gallon of gas went up 8 cents this week.

The average $3.51 that West Virginians are paying for a gallon of regular unleaded is 15 cents higher than the national average. The auto club says the higher pump prices have a silver lining: They rose in response to positive economic news.

Fuel prices in the state range from a low of $3.46 in Parkersburg to a high of $3.61 in Martinsburg.
