HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall University is conducting a test of its system to alert faculty, staff and students about emergencies.

Marshall says the routine test will be conducted by text message, e-mail and telephone at 10 a.m. today.

Marshall director of public safety Jim Terry says the test is conducted at least once per semester. The most recent test of the system was done on Sept. 12.

System subscribers are asked to contact the university at mualert(at)marshall.edu if they don't receive the alert by noon today.
