HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- The Huntington Foundation Inc. has donated $500,000 to Marshall University's medical school to support geriatrics research.

The funding will be used to create an endowed chair of geriatrics at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.

The endowed chair will be named for the late Frank E. Hanshaw Sr., who was a founder of the Marshall University Foundation Inc.

Marshall says it expects the West Virginia Research Trust Fund to match the gift.
