BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- County school officials from across West Virginia are set to hear what U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin has to say about school safety.

The West Virginia Democrat is scheduled to address the West Virginia Association of School Administrators on Friday at the Bridgeport Conference Center.

The conference, which began Thursday, is focusing on current issues facing state school officials.

Manchin was in Harrison County two weeks ago to discuss school safety with students and educators at several schools.

He's gathering input on what changes should be made following December's mass shooting at Connecticut's Sandy Hook Elementary School that killed 20 children and six adults.
