MADISON, W.Va. -- Police in Boone County are searching for a 16-year-old girl who went missing sometime last week.
Police are looking for Octavia "Tayvie" Smoot, of Madison. She was last seen Jan. 25 with her boyfriend, Richie Dangott, 23, of Turtle Creek, Boone County Sheriff Randall White said Friday. Dangott is wanted on a probation violation charge, White said.
Several deputies and officers from Madison are looking for Smoot and are talking to people who might know of her whereabouts.
Smoot's friends and family started a Facebook group Thursday to spread the word about her disappearance.
