Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a night hike at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 5 on Kanawha State Forest's Polly Hollow Trail. Meet at Polly Hollow parking area. The hike is approximately 2 to 2 1/2 miles on a moderate trail with hills. Bring a light source.

Met Opera's encore of the premiere performance of "Maria Staurada" by Donizetti will be shown in high definition from 6:30 to approximately 9:45 p.m. Feb. 6 at Cinemark in Huntington Mall. Queen cousins Elizabeth of England and Mary of Scotland are both in love with the Earl of Leicester. Tickets are $22 for adults; $20 for seniors; and $15 for children. West Virginia Institute for Spirituality will have a seminar titled "Music of Your Life: How to Develop a Personal Rule of Life" Feb. 9 at 1601 Virginia St. E. The seminar includes principles and suggestions to find joy and meaning, deepening mindful self-awareness and the components of self-discipline. CEU credits are available for social workers, registered nurses and licensed professional counselors. The offering is $40 or $50 for CEU recipients.
