The state Department of Health and Human Resources has appointed Virginia Mahan as the agency's legislative liaison, according to a news release.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The state Department of Health and Human Resources has appointed Virginia Mahan as the agency's legislative liaison, according to a news release.
"Ms. Mahan's extensive legislative experience and knowledge will be an asset to the department," acting Cabinet Secretary Rocco Fucillo said in a prepared statement. "I am delighted that she has joined my staff."
Mahan was a member of the state Houses of Delegates, representing Raleigh and Summers counties, from 1997 to 2012.
While a delegate, she was chairwoman of Legislative Rule Making Review, the Equal Pay Commission Committee and the Committee on Children's Issues. Mahan was a member of the House Judiciary Committee, then the Finance Committee and the House Rules Committee.
