Clendenin man accused of exposing himself to minor
CLENDENIN, W.Va. -- A Clendenin man was arrested over the weekend and charged with indecent exposure and displaying pornographic images to a child.
The charges come out of a West Virginia State Police investigation going back to May 2012, according to a criminal complaint on file in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
According to the criminal complaint, the father of a 9-year-old girl contacted State Police in May, after his daughter told him that Michael Meadows, 34, of Elk River Road in Clendenin, had allegedly exposed himself to her. State Police later interviewed the girl, who said Meadows allegedly exposed himself to her on several occasions and once showed her pornographic pictures on his iPhone, according to the complaint.
Troopers executed a search warrant at Meadows' home in October and allegedly recovered several cell phones and computers, the compaint said. Troopers then interviewed Meadows, who allegedly admitted to having pornographic pictures and to urinating outside his home while children were present, the criminal complaint said.
Meadows faces up to a year in jail on the indecent exposure charge and up to five years in prison on the charge of displaying obscene material to a minor.Reach Rusty Marks at firstname.lastname@example.org or 304-348-1215.
