The committee will discuss budgets for the 2013-14 fiscal year, draft funding from the Kanawha County Commission and Kanawha County Board of Education, determine retention of Extension faculty in the agreements county and provide guidance for Extension education programming for the upcoming year. Kanawha Trail Club will meet Feb. 10 for a hike at Putnam County Park. Meet at 1 p.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. Regroup at the swimming pool area. The hike is about 4 miles on a moderate trail with a few short hills. Post-hike dinner at JP's in Eleanor is optional.
Putnam Career and Technical Center will offer a free College Goal Sunday workshop that will help fill out and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 10 at the center, 300 Roosevelt Blvd., Eleanor. The one-day workshop will take place at 23 locations throughout the state. Local financial aid professionals will be on hand to offer free one-on-one confidential support. Riverside High School Project Graduation will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from noon to 6 p.m. Feb. 11 at the school. Feb. 11 is an Instructional Support and Enhancement Day and there is no school for students that day. The price of the dinner is $6 and includes spaghetti, salad, hot roll and dessert. Takeout will be available.
