RAINELLE, W.Va. -- A Fayette County man faces up to 105 years in prison for torching several vehicles at a West Virginia State Police barracks.
State Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Baylous said a Greenbrier County jury convicted 48-year-old David Clayton White of Meadow Bridge on retaliation, arson and conspiracy charges on Tuesday.
White is one of five people charged after the 2011 fires at the Rainelle detachment. The fires destroyed two State Police vehicles and several others that had been seized.
Two co-defendants, 29-year-old Ray L. Goff of Meadow Bridge and White's great-nephew, 23-year-old Nicholas White of Danese, reached plea agreements and testified against White.
Greenbrier County prosecutor Patrick Via told The Register-Herald that he expects the other cases to go to trial soon.
David White's sentencing is set for March 6.
