Wheeling Jesuit hosts annual gown resale Saturday

WHEELING, W.Va. -- To help girls in the Ohio Valley who may not be able to afford expensive dresses for spring formals and proms, Wheeling Jesuit University is planning a gown resale event.

Dresses in good condition and in various sizes and colors will be on sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Troy Theater on campus.

The event is open to the public. Organizer Carla Cash says it's been a hit for the past four years, and she hopes it will keep growing to help both teenage girls and their parents.

Wheeling Jesuit admissions representatives will also be on hand to offer tours and answer questions.

Students, employees and others in the community have donated the dresses. Wheeling Jesuit's cheerleaders will run the sale and receive the proceeds.
