Valentine's Day poetry
The Kanawha Valley Poets will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Dunbar Public Library, 12th Street and Myers Avenue, Dunbar. The color prompt for the day is the color red, and the group will share poems on that theme as well as Valentine's Day poetry and other love poems. Beta Sigma Phi meeting
Beta Sigma Phi International Preceptor Alpha Chapter will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Kanawha Turnpike, Spring Hill. President Charlotte Bowling will conduct the business meeting. The program and hostess for the meeting is Mary Arthur. Refreshments will be served after the business meeting. Service is containers for Manna Meals, tabs for Ronald McDonald House, magazines for the veteran's clinic and comfort blankest for Women's and Children's Hospital. Election of officers for the 2013-2014 year will be held.
'Pretty Pressed Flowers'
Kanawha Estates Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Church of Christ on Chesterfield Avenue. Margaret Taylor will serve as hostess for the evening. The program will be "Pretty Pressed Flowers" and will be presented by club member Linda Jones. For information, call 304-925-0778.
ACA town hall meeting
West Virginians for Affordable Health Care will have a town hall meeting on the Affordable Care Act's benefits for women and their families from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Schoenbaum Family Enrichment Center, 1701 Fifth Ave. The free meeting will include a panel discussion featuring the Rev.
