CLAY, W.Va. -- A Florida man was arrested Friday evening following an earlier lockdown of three Clay County schools.

Clay County's elementary, middle and high schools were placed on lockdown earlier Friday as a precautionary measure at the request of West Virginia State Police, local media reported. The lockdowns at the middle and high schools were later lifted.

However, Clay County Elementary School remained on lockdown throughout the day, though media reports indicated classes took place as usual.

Later in the evening, a man was arrested and charged with four counts of sexual abuse in apparent connection with the lockdown, WOWK-TV reported.

WOWK identified the suspect as Derrick Glasser, 39, of Florida.
