First Presbyterian Church of South Charleston: will present a portrayal of Eleanor Roosevelt during a free History Alive presentation at 7 p.m. March 11 at the church. Eleanor Roosevelt will be portrayed by Patty Cooper of Parkersburg. During the 12 years of her husband, Franklin D. Roosevelt's presidency, she was a vocal champion for human rights and social reform; authored books and newspaper articles; visited troops during WWII; and traveled widely representing the President. She is much revered in West Virginia for her efforts in creating the communities of Arthurdale in Putnam County and Eleanor in Putnam County. Institute Church of the Nazarene,: 208 Washington Ave., Institute, will be selling chicken dinners from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church.
