MAN, W.Va. -- A woman shot and killed a suspected intruder who might have previously been her boyfriend on Sunday in Logan County, according to State Police.

George Michael Bowens, who was in his 30s, tried to enter Venus Parton's home at about noon on W.Va. 10, just south of Man, according to Trooper R.L. Glastell.

Parton shot Bowens, Glastell said. No charges have been filed.

Sgt. M.S. Lively, who had just returned from the scene Sunday night, said he had gathered from people in the community that Parton and Bowens had "an off-and-on-type relationship" and "were at least a couple at one point."

Police are still investigating.
