Kanawha County Parks and Recreation Commission will meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Coonskin Clubhouse Oak Room, Coonskin Park. The agenda will be available in the park office. Call 304-341-8000 for information.
Engineering for girls
Bridgemont Community and Technical College in Montgomery will sponsor an "Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day" from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Clay Center for eighth-grade female students. For more information, call 304-807-9277.
Town-hall meeting
Multifest Charleston West Virginia will have a town-hall meeting at 7 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, 432 Shrewsbury St.
Tutor training
Literacy Volunteers of Kanawha County will conduct a tutor training workshop from 6 to 9 p.m. March 5, 7, 8, 12, 14 and 15 in room 403, First Presbyterian Church, 16 Leon Sullivan Way. Participants must attend all six sessions to be certified. To register, call the LVKC office at 304-343-7323 or email at literacyvolunte...@frontier.com.
