ST. ALBANS, W.Va. -- At a meeting Tuesday night, St. Albans council members approved four ordinances that will update and clarify the municipal code.

Mayor Dick Callaway said the first ordinance prohibits operating a vehicle without evidence of registration. That already exists on the city's books but the ordinance clarifies it to match state law, he said.

The second prohibits using a license plate or registration from another car. The third ordinance prohibits breaking into vehicles or other mobile equipment.

The final ordinance sets limits on where residents can build swimming pools on their property, he said.
