WILLIAMSON, W.Va. -- A Mingo County woman is in jail for tipping off people about indictments while serving on a county grand jury.

Leanna Richardson, 21, of Marrowbone, received a 10-day jail sentence Tuesday for contempt of court.

Mingo County prosecutor Michael Sparks said one person told investigators that Richardson told her she was being indicted. Two other people also knew they were being indicted but they didn't tell investigators how they obtained the information.

Sheriff Eugene Crum said leaking grand jury information puts people's lives in danger.
