WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. -- West Liberty University has named Brian L. Crawford its new provost.
Crawford has served as dean of liberal arts since 2010. He previously was chairman of the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences and had taught geography since August 1999.

Before coming to West Liberty, Crawford taught at Ohio University, Indiana State University, the University of Kentucky and Allan Hancock College. He served 15 years in the U.S. Air Force before retiring as a captain.
West Liberty President Robin Capehart announced Crawford's appointment Tuesday.
