FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- A contractor is wrapping up site preparation for a new state office building in Fairmont.

City manager Jay Rogers tells The Times-West Virginian that Reclaim Inc. is expected to complete the work by April.

Structural problems closed the original state building in February 2009.

The new 80,000-square-foot West Virginia State Office Complex is expected to open by April 2014.

West Virginia Department of Administration spokeswoman Diane Holley-Brown says state officials are preparing to bid the construction portion of the project.
