Tygart Lake State Park offers hobby-driven events

GRAFTON, W.Va. -- Whether you're a hiker, a birder, a knitter or a writer, Tygart Lake State Park is planning a weekend for you.

The park near Grafton is hosting a series of workshops and special events dedicated to personal interests, starting this spring.

On the schedule so far is a Woodland Writing Weekend March 1-3 with Colleen Anderson, a Beads and Basics jewelry-making workshop with Renee Cross of Fossil Jewels March 22-24, and a "Jump Start'' weekend to kick off Heart Health Month on April 12-14.

Nature hikes, a Knitters' Weekend Getaway and a Bird Banding Weekend are scheduled for later in the year.
