CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Average gasoline prices in West Virginia have risen for the fifth straight week.

AAA East Central says the price of a gallon of regular gas in the state is up 2 cents to $3.88. That's 8 cents more than a year ago and a dime more than the current national average.

Prices range from $3.81 in Clarksburg to $3.99 in Martinsburg.

AAA says drivers in Hawaii, California, Washington, D.C., and New York are now paying more than $4 per gallon on average for gas.
