Martinsburg airport plans improvements
Advertiser

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Rehabilitating taxiways is the top priority in the Eastern Regional Airport Authority's new capital improvements plan.

The five-year plan's second priority is acquiring private land abutting the airport's property that has direct access to the facility.

The Journal reports that the Eastern Regional Airport Authority approved the plan this week. The Federal Aviation Administration must review and approve the plan.

Also listed in the plan is a noise capability study for the C-17 Globemaster transport planes. The planes will replace the West Virginia Air National Guard 167th Airlift Wing's C-5 Galaxy transports beginning in late 2014.
