Reunion group meeting

The Magazine/Garrison Avenue Area Reunion Group will meet for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Shoney's, Kanawha Boulevard. For information, call Norma Levy at 304-342-1095.

Explore Ireland

Elk River Community and Education Center has openings for 20 kids age 5-12 in a program that will explore Ireland from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in room 201 of the center. A $10 "travel" fee is requested. The schedule is: travel route; Irish music; dance and poetry; legends, myths and history; current state of affairs; and crafts. Hot tea and Irish shortbread will be served. Putnam Democratic meeting

The Putnam County Chapter of the West Virginia Federation of Democratic Women will hold its March luncheon meeting at noon Saturday at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club. The cost is $10 per person. Guest speaker will be Belinda Biafore, vice chairwoman of the Democratic State Party and past president of the WVFDW. Bring a door prize and a friend. All Democrats are welcome. American Legion Post 16

The American Legion Post 16 will present an Americanism program at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Huntington library. There will be a banner to be signed by the public with well wishes and sent to injured troops. There will also be an opportunity to bring American flags that need to be destroyed. The flags will be destroyed June 16 at the home of the American Legion Post 16.
