The Records Management and Preservation Board awarded grants totaling more than $427,000 for records projects.
Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin says the projects will improvement management, storage, access and preservation of public records held in county government offices.
Some counties plan to use the funds to digitize records or place them on microfilm. Others plan to rebind and restore records.
