Career-technical students set for competition

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- About 650 career and technical students will show off their skills in a state-level competition.

The students will compete in 52 categories. Among them are commercial arts and baking, aviation maintenance, welding, first aid, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning system maintenance.

The event gets started tonight at Winfield High School.

Saturday's competition will be held at the Putnam Career Technical Center in Putnam County; the Ben Franklin Career Technical Center and the Carver Career Technical Center in Kanawha County; Marshall University in Huntington; and George Washington Middle School in Eleanor.
