DUNBAR, W.Va. -- Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program classes are being offered for free by certified instructors from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays at the Dunbar Recreation Center.
Deloris Wilder, director of health and wellness for the state Bureau of Senior Services, and Robin Barnes, health and wellness coordinator for Kanawha Valley Senior Services, are teaming up to teach the course.
"Although many who participate do have arthritis, others can benefit. The classes can help improve range of motion and reduce pain," Barnes said.
In West Virginia, 36 percent of the adult population reported doctor-diagnosed arthritis, the highest in the U.S. More information about arthritis can be found at www.arthritis.org.
Those interested in the class, should call Wilder at 304-558-3317 or Barnes at 304-348-0707.
